Welcome to the Crouch End Chavurah website
Crouch End Chavurah is a small but vibrant Jewish community, affiliated to the Liberal Movement and led by Rabbi Sandra Kviat.
‘Chavurah’ means group of friends. We come from a variety of backgrounds, including families where only one partner is Jewish. We are based in Crouch End and our members come from Crouch End as well as the surrounding areas. We cherish Jewish heritage, but interpret Judaism in a modern, progressive way.
Since forming in 2008, we now run regular High Holy day services, Purim parties, Sukkah building, communal seders, mass candle lighting at Chanukah, as well a Shabbat camping trip. We also offer Shabbat services, adult education evenings and weekly hebrew/jewish studies classes for our children. There is always plenty to eat and good company too!
As a relatively new community with no permanent
building, we depend on our members being actively involved in all
aspects of our services and events, this might mean being part of our
security rota, helping to set up before a service, hosting an event or
helping to clear up afterwards.
